This Privacy Notice explains how personal information is collected and used in connection with the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2026, taking place at ExCeL London on Friday, 9 October 2026.
The event is organised through the NextGen Innovation Challenge programme in collaboration with NBTI and UKALD.

- mobile or WhatsApp number
- country
- organisation
- job title
- attendee type
- registration ID
- registration source or referral information
- marketing/information consent preference
- event attendance and check-in information
- VIP or Investor Lounge status where applicable
If you register as an Investor / VC, we may also collect:
- investment sectors of interest
- preferred investment stage
- optional investment range
- innovator interests
- introduction requests
- follow-up responses
We may also maintain administrative records relating to confirmation-email delivery, event communications and registration management.
2. Why We Use Your Information
We may use your information to:
- process and manage your event registration
- issue your registration confirmation and QR ticket
- verify your registration at the venue
- manage event entry and attendance
- send essential information about the event
- provide programme, venue and event-day updates
- manage investor and networking activities
- provide relevant innovator recommendations to eligible investors
- respond to introduction requests
- administer post-event feedback and follow-up
- prevent duplicate or fraudulent registrations
- maintain event security
- understand attendance and registration statistics
- improve future NextGen Innovation Challenge programmes
If you have specifically agreed to receive future information or marketing communications, we may also use your contact details for that purpose.
3. Our Lawful Basis for Using Personal Information
We use personal information only where we have an appropriate lawful basis.
Depending on the activity, this may include:
Event registration and administration: where processing is necessary to provide the registration and event services you requested and to administer the event.
Legitimate interests: where necessary for reasonable event-management purposes such as security, registration integrity, attendance administration, networking and operational reporting, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent: where you choose to receive optional marketing or information about future programmes. You may withdraw that consent at any time.

- registration confirmation
- QR ticket information
- important event updates
- venue or programme information
- event-day instructions
- check-in information
- essential post-event administration
Optional future marketing or programme communications will be sent in accordance with your consent preference where consent is required.
5. Investor and Innovator Matching
If you register as an Investor / VC, information about your selected investment interests may be used to identify relevant innovators whose sectors have been reviewed and approved by event organisers.
These recommendations are intended to assist networking at and around the event.
The platform does not make automated investment decisions on your behalf.
6. Who We May Share Information With
Your information may be accessible to authorised event organisers and personnel who need it to administer the event.
Where necessary, information may also be processed by service providers supporting functions such as:
- website hosting
- email delivery
- event operations
- venue or entry management
- technical support
We do not sell attendee personal information.
Information is only shared where necessary for an appropriate purpose or where required by law.
7. International Processing
Because the event involves participants and organisations in more than one country, personal information may in some circumstances be processed or accessed outside the country in which you registered.
Where applicable, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers as required by applicable data-protection law.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including event administration, follow-up, record-keeping, dispute resolution and applicable legal requirements.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect registration information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
QR tickets use an internal registration token rather than embedding your name, email address, telephone number or other direct personal details in the QR code.

- request correction of inaccurate information
- request deletion in applicable circumstances
- request restriction of processing
- object to certain processing

Providing consent for future marketing or programme information is optional.

Individuals in the United Kingdom have the right to raise a data-protection complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where applicable.
